Chicago Zoological Society Conservation And Research Funds
The American Cetacean Society (ACS) is holding its 12th International Conference on November 12-14, 2010 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Monterey, California. The conference is entitled, "Whales 2010: Inspiring a New Decade of Conservation – A New Decade, New Challenges, and New Opportunities to Make a Difference".
Cheryl McCormick, Executive Director of ACS, remarks, “The 12th International Conference of the American Cetacean Society is the place where people can join a unique gathering of scientists, policy makers, and conservation practitioners from all over the world to share the most current research findings, domestic and international policy developments, and conservation initiatives concerning whales, dolphins, and porpoises."
The conference begins Friday evening November 12th with a Welcome Reception featuring the art exhibit, "In the Eye of the Whale". Artist Bryant Austin will exhibit his life-size, high-resolution photographs of whales. Also featured is "The Adventures of a Whale Painter: 50 years in Pursuit of Cetlogical Correctness" by artist/author Richard Ellis.
